Interloc employs a number of tools while conducting development activities in aspects of Maximo technical projects and provide them free to our clients to use throughout project engagements.
Interloc technical architects approach the optimization of system performance from two angles: system architecture and performance tuning.
Interloc makes sure your Maximo administrators and end users are prepared and familiar with their new system by offering a number of training and support opportunities.
Interloc recognizes that the success or failure of a Maximo project can often hinge on the quality of project management. Interloc’s extensive Project Management methodology for client application clearly defines the role of Project Manager through each stage of project implementation — from pre-project preparation to planning and analysis, validation of requirements to post go-live support, which includes the establishment of checkpoints weeks and months after the go-live period ends to determine overall client satisfaction.
A core component of project management is for the project team to review any available as-is and to-be processed documentation, and the associated requirements for final validation. This ensures a shared vision and involves:
Automated workflows are a key aspect of Interloc innovation. Interloc’s Maximo automated workflow system enables records to flow according to your specific business processes, and the wide variety of workflow tools now available through Maximo offers superior functionality to developers meeting the vast majority of workflow requirements.
Interloc consultants will assist you in creating a well-defined workflow from a formalized business process. We will help you:
Interloc understands that effective organizational change happens from within, and our certified technical consultants involve the client project team members throughout an engagement. Heavy investment from project team members translates to ownership, which increases the success of an implementation.
Interloc’s significant experience in working with both large and small businesses with varying degrees of technical adoption has made us an industry leader in helping companies successfully navigate the change management process. Our thorough change management approach will ensure your Maximo implementation is well received and well executed, providing quality data and positive results to your organization.
Maximo implementation success is directly related to communication to the users and their preparedness for change.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) ensures that your users get what is expected. Interloc recommends a phased approach to UAT. Interloc works with our clients to determine the testing process, format of test scripts, requirements and responsibilities for test scripts, and issues tracking.
Additionally, Interloc further helps to construct the tests and provide mechanisms for tracking and resolving issues. Clients would normally conduct the tests themselves, with Interloc providing assistance and reworking for any identified items.
Interloc believes that data conversion and migration begins with jointly identifying our clients' business data and deciding what should be migrated, how it will be employed, whether it needs to be transformed, and determining its current storage location.
Data can come from: legacy systems, user spreadsheets, or directly from the workers in the field.
Once the data to be migrated is identified, Interloc analyzes the data and determines how to map it from the existing sources to Maximo. To assist with data loading through the MIF and to reduce the repetitive tasks involved in configuring the MIF for each data load, Interloc has developed universal data-loading tools for mapping, performing data loads, and monitoring progress through the MIF.
Delivering reports isn’t just about developing reports. Interloc provides the following Maximo reporting services to our clients:
Interloc has developed a number of tools to simplify some of the most repetitive or time-consuming tasks associated with various parts of Maximo technical projects. We use these tools as appropriate while conducting development activities, and provide them free to our clients to use throughout project engagements. On completion of our involvement, Interloc can remove the tools from the client environment if desired, or leave them for the client’s use moving forwarding..
JUnit automated testing to simplify all stages of testing. Whenever a change is made in Maximo, it may require dozens, sometimes hundreds, of regression tests to verify the correct operation of both the new functionality and the existing functionality. Manual test scripts are very time-consuming and often impractical to perform for regular releases. For this reason, Interloc has developed specific extensions to the automated testing tool JUnit to allow it to interact with Maximo. We have developed a base Maximo test fixture that provides base features for logging in and out of Maximo as specified users, performing work-flow actions, interacting with MBO objects, as well as providing utility methods for performing spell checking (useful for checking workflow instructions) and other laborious tasks.
Interloc understands that the larger and more complex your Maximo implementation, the more challenging it is for you to maintain optimal Maximo system performance. That’s why we employ technical architects who approach the optimization of system performance from two angles: system architecture and performance tuning.
Maximo System Architecture:
When planning your Maximo system implementation, you should consider how your system should be set up to best handle intended Maximo usage within your organization.
Through the application of IBM recommended best practices and practical experience of client Maximo implementations, Interloc’s technical architects can assess, recommend, and implement optimal system architecture for your organization.
Maximo Performance Tuning:
Once your Maximo system is in place, you may find that maintaining optimal system performance is a challenging task.
Interloc can assist your Maximo performance tuning challenges by examining the following areas:
Interloc’s technical consultants will look into these and other areas as required to diagnose areas of poor system performance. We will provide recommendations and implement corrective measures as appropriate to optimize your Maximo system performance.
Interloc recognizes that perhaps the most important part of a Maximo implementation is ensuring that you are well prepared to take over your Maximo system post go-live. Interloc ensures that both Maximo administrators and Maximo end users are comfortable with their new system by offering a number of training opportunities, as well as all the support you may need to make your Maximo implementation a success.
Interloc provides the following support to our clients following implementation:
Depending on your needs, Maximo post-implementation training can include:
